Triple Race Weekend at SCR

I will try see if we can put a list together and post it here. I have only stayed at the Northern Quest . The rooms there are very nice but pricey if you aren't going to be in the room much. They did run their shuttle for the SOVREN racers to and from the track.

Thursday night Steve Miller Band is playing at Northern Quests new outdoor venue. This facility is on the west side of the casino and faces the track. This might be why local accommodations for Thursday night are filling up.

I spent yesterday afternoon at the Spokane County Raceway checking out the NHRA Divisional track set up. They had 250 race cars on site with their support vehicles. I will be able to use this information for the Grand Prix parking plan.

The Spokane County Raceways track accommodations continue to improve on a weekly basis. I noticed that their Wifi was on yesterday and this will aid us with live timing and remote track video in the future.
 
Just a reminder that camping is allowed on site. They have been leaving the restrooms open all night at the track and the security guard locks the main gate when he leaves . The time of closure changes for this due to how the facility is used on the weekend. There are no drags or circle track races scheduled for the race weekend. Wednesday night has drag grudge racing.

Here are two more hotels near the track . The Days Inn is about a mile and Hilton is closer to two miles away.

Here is another Hotel to add to the list. It is located just off Highway 2 and I 90 at the top of the sunset hill.

The Hampton Inn Spokane Airport is offering a racer special discounted room for $109. per night July 14-17. They are providing a free 8 minute shuttle service to and from the race track for the entire event. Also, a secure parking area at the hotel for support vehicles and race car trailers. Guest reservations can be made , online, or by calling the hotel directly. Call 1-509-747-1100. Pease specify that you are with 2011 Spokane Festival of Speed race.

Don't forget to check out the NWMS website from time to time. Things are being updated as the Club is hard at work getting everything ready for the race weekend.

The track was even visited by Randy Lewis as one of his over 1600 tracks and counting .
