Spokane Grand Prix

Actually we entered this spring through the gate just above the Av"e" on the left hand "Sprague Ave" on Kevin's picture.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I would have driven by that at least a dozen times.
That's odd.

I'll make sure I come at it from Hayden as a u-turn from Sprague won't cut it.
[ looks like the little google car didn't want to go past the prison ]

I just signed up before the early bird special expired! Looking at the entry list, Groups 2 and 5 should be a blast!

Colin: What brake pads did you and Rick say to get for our CRXes? I need to replenish my spares kit.

Is this the entrance?

No, that's where we entered a year or two ago, up on Hayford. The new entrance is on Sprague, just not quite as far west as the prison main entrance. If you're going north on Hayford, turn left onto Sprague at the casino, and pass the resort and their parking areas. In the Google Map, look for the lighter-colored asphalt driveway from Sprague, south of the eastern-most part of the oval track.

Glad all of you are coming. There is no power available this year in the paddock area. We're working with the new management to rectify the issue when we re-align the track and re-build the paddock and pit area. The entrance is on Sprague Ave just west of the casino and before you get to the prison.

@ Kevin York: I'm glad you're coming to SCR again, I had a great time chasing you down last year and look forward to "trying to keep up" again.

@ Mike Colangelo: You want the Cobalt XR1 or XR2. I buy mine from Adrenaline Racing in Lake Oswego, Oregon. They couldn't get me any in time before this race so I'm bring my spare set and another spare set from Rick Delamare so I will have 2 sets of spares. Which Caliper/pad are you using? Another option is to talk to Scott Adare and see if he can get those Super-awesome-game-changing-racing-winning-brake pads.

Thanks Colin.

I really like the Spokane track. I've enjoyed it in everything from an FV to an ITA Neon to a PRO3 - to a Toyota Prius and a Ford Explorer (ask Adare or Cassell about those last two...)

One thing different about this year from last, I won't be driving a pesky PRO3 car to get in the way of you and Rick...

So far the ITA grid looks good - should be FUN!

Sounds like we need to wake up Lewis & Clark or Sacagawea to blaze a marked trail to the track for a lot of people :)

Good luck to all over there

Did you guys ever enter through the gravel yard? Or is that what you meant by across from the Prison. My first trip to Spokane 7 years ago we couldn't get into the track for an hour because a truck refused to move...

Yes, we used to share that entrance across from the prison with the gravel company. When the county bought the track, that entrance was dedicated to the gravel company and our new entrance road is now separated from the old entrance by concrete barriers.

Be sure to bring a friend who wants to help put on the show. ThePortland gang has a four day Portland Historics that weekend and will be busy at home. The Spokane folks can use all the help they can get in all specialties.

Yeah they are, If they are willing to put up with me as starter then you know they are desperate. LOL.

But seriously, If you can help out it please do.

Scott, I think you have to pack in and out for food.
(Or go to the Mickey Dee's on the main drag. And there is another fast food thing at the Shell gas station on the Main highway just behind the prison)

The Northern Quest Casino next door has a Fatburger and an Italian place, and they allow you to park in the valet lane while you get your order.
If you call ahead I think they will bring it out to you.
