FWIW, I'm working on setting up a Motorsportsreg account, so we can do some surveys, and be more organized with the entries.
Keeping track of interseted parties though, as last year there will be a limitation on spots, probably around 84 people.

Will the environment/setup be kid-friendly during the race? Place to watch? Anything they can do to help?

It's like a typical Conference race, but minus the outdoors, trailers, and paddock tomfoolery! Instead, it's one day, it's inside, and the shenanigans are confined to a much smaller space...
If it's held at Apex Karting again (as before) it's a great venue. Snack bar, cushy chairs, lots of room to hang out and visit during the race. The venue takes care of the karting aspect of it; that is, there aren't any volunteers required from our group.
You need a team and a good team name...there have been some real doozies!
