PRO3 to run as support race for NASCAR Camping World Series

PRO3 have been invited to run as a support race for the NASCAR Camping World West Series. Dates for the race weekend are July 16-18 at Portland Int'l Raceway. PRO3 anticipates fielding an exciting 30 car grid for their race. The format will include a qualifying race on Saturday afternoon that will set the grid for the 45 minute Sunday main race.

The PRO3 race on Sunday will start around noon. The Camping World race will be around 3:00pm.

The event is named the BI-MART Salute to the Troops 125 and the 2009 event was a success with around 12,000 attending the races. Thanks to Gary Bockman for getting PRO3 involved with this event.

Oh way cool !!!!!
This is going to be a great event, and coming on the heels of Spokane.
A Pacific Northwest Double Header.
 
Current (initial) driver count is at 34 for this event. This is just our preliminary headcount to be confirmed through registrations later.

The "PRO3" logo will appear along side the "NASCAR" logo on the specators' tickets...how cool is that!?
 
Hey Lance, does this mean you won't be running with the Indy in Edmonton this year on July 23, 24, 25?

There may be a few cars that go up in a transporter to the Edmonton IRL weekend, but probably not the PRO3 emphasis like last year. It's a great event, but ended up being very costly to attend. This NASCAR event is much closer to home, and will allow a much larger group of drivers to participate in a special race with a paid audience. We're looking to one special event per year so we don't over commit our group, and also to not take away from our primary emphasis which is the ICSCC schedule. Plus we get our own run group at this event, which is a nice perk.

I know that I'm looking forward to it. It will add some assemblance of sanity to the weekend for the 'wiggly oval' racers.

Brian, if I may be so bold as to speak on behalf of Cascade..........the more volunteers the merrier, so come on down.
I believe this is a 3 day event (4???) so any extra eyes, hands, brains, will be put to good use.
Should be a fun weekend.

Maybe this year NASCAR-W won't try to make us look like rodeo clowns.

Hi Brian All race events need volunteers, I know we could use a couple more (more) on the safety crew and if you are willing and able to play in the passenger-back set, come play with Ken and myself and the rest of the crew. Look forward to seeing u.
 
Brian, PRO3 do not need help, but as mentioned Cascade will need help administering safety for the race. It was big plus when we decided to hook up with this event when we knew all of the safety would be familiar faces from Conference.
