Sleeping at Pacific Raceways

Howdy - I'll hopefully be racing at PR in 3 weeks, but due to a mix of low funds and unsureness that I'll actually make it (my fuel cell cracked unexpectedly, which doesn't help either the low funds, or the time I have to work on the car!) I'm considering sleeping in the back of the wagon. I have the luxury of owning a volvo 740 wagon, also known as the most practical car on earth, with what is probably the flattest cargo area in any automobile ever, perfect for an inflatable mattress.

Anyway - I've never been to PR before, so just wondering if there's anything I need to consider. Like a strict rule of no sleeping in the back of cars at PR, for example :)

Any thoughts? :)

Cheers!
Tiago

No problem. The paddocks and the grassy patch areas in behind the paddock are quite populated on race weekends. (tents, campers, motorhomes, truck box....what have you)
Great way to go and gives you the opportunity to socialize.

Grassy patches? Oh, maybe the area adjacent to the BBQ area I suppose. I had heard that anyone caught sleeping in the back of a Volvo of any make would be immediately escorted from the premises!

well well, this isn't just ANY make, you see.. It's an original, hand built in Nova Scotia, super haulin' sports wagon. Plus the windows are heavily tinted, no one can see me back there!

(No seriously, they're incredibly dark. The previous owners had a thing with privacy, I guess..)

Yeah Tony, I would have bummed you for a place to stay already, if it were PIR :)

Any of you Portlanders thinking of making it up to Seattle? Would love to see some Volvos on the track!

Grassy patches?
No Wes, not the patches you planted next out of sight on the back section. They went up in smoke in the 60s. :)

As far as camping in the paddock, the racers encourage it for security and socialization. All Conference tracks are camper friendly, and sometimes drag racing is free, bring your ear plugs.
