Ridge Enduro Rules

I am struggling with ICSCC rules vs the supps. Maybe I need a little therapy.

In the very beginning of the ICSSC rule book:

These Competition Regulations shall apply to every ICSCC sanctioned
event.

A. Organizing member clubs conducting races may publish
SUPPLEMENTAREGULATIONS provided that the supplemental
regulations do not conflict with these Competition Regulations.
In the event that a supplemental regulation conflicts with or
changes the meaning or application of an ICSCC Competition
Regulation, the supplemental regulation is deemed void.

Then we have the very first rule of the Ridge Enduro Supp Regs:

2013 Spring Enduro Supplemental Regulations
1. RULES
All rules and policies contained within the current year International Conference of Sports Car Clubs
(ICSCC) Competition Regulations and Policy and Procedures manual apply to this event, with the
exception of those rules and policies superseded by these supplemental regulations.

The supps say to follow the ICSCC rules which state to deem voided "those rules and policies superseded by these supplemental regulations."

Really a bit of conumdrum for me...or more likely the Steward.

It was much simpler when the Enduros were simply a local club event that was allowed to purchase, because they were ICSCC member clubs in good standing, a lower cost (group?) insurance rate through ICSCC (Approved by the Exec Bd because the pertinent ICSCC Regulations and safety standards of ICSCC were met). Neither assumed to be, or operated as, some form of pre/post season non-points ICSCC event. It was more of a locally owned/operated thing then. An end of season fun-run.

Now ICSCC gets to share in all of the liabilities, and rule fubars that their (volunteers with one or two "Official" seasons under their belt) Steward(s) are tasked to oversee using those supplemental regulations and the formal ICSCC Regulations. So we can all feel much safer about that.

The very next section "B." authorizes and defines permitted supplemental rules variances from the rulebook.

The passage you quoted from the IRDC enduro supps was included as a courtesy more than anything to alert people to be informed that there may be some differences in the rule set relative to an ordinary Championship points race.

For Championship points races, we don't normally need to know anything about fuel towers, pit crews, or in the case of the Cascade enduro, how the LeMans style start works.
