Looking to volunteer for a team or driver

Hi, I would like to get more involved with road racing. I enjoy working on things and would like to possibly help someone with car prep this winter and then continue on with race day support or something of that sort. Not really too sure just want to get involved and learn. I would like more of a fun atmosphere but still competitive, just not anywhere someones going to be yelling basically, It's all for fun right?

A little about me: I have always been mechanically inclined and always loved race cars. I have two years of aviation maintenance training and a full set of hand tools. This past summer I was the crew chief for a grand national flat track team so I'm not completely new to working on machines or to racing. Thank you for reading and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

i would love for you to come help me, but i think the drive is probably to long to be worth it to you. since im in portland

Probably, yeah. Thats one thing I forgot to say, I am looking for somebody within reasonable distance, Puyallup, Tacoma, Olympia, Auburn. Somewhere in that general area.

Hey Andy, welcome and thanks for putting the offer out there.

I might suggest getting ahold of an IRDC Member.
Their website is irdc-racing.com. Go to the IRDC Officers/ByLaws and just call anyone of the great people on the list.

Their meetings are the first Wednesday of each month in Tukwila. There is a meeting on Jan.4th. Good group of people.
They meet at the Sizzler Restaurant.....16615 Southcentre Parkway at 7pm.
They will steer you in the right direction.

As another suggestion, we always welcome new people on the turns doing flagging and communications. BEST SEAT in the house.

Cool, it seems to have posted!

My hopefully dear friend Andy,
Is south Lynnwood, just off of I-5 at 220th (mile post 179)
close enough for you to be interested in coming one evening
a week or so?
We will feed you diner, and never yell at you
(well - ok, I do not hear very well, so sometimes I talk loudly,
but I will get hearing aids soon, and I personally don't think it's yelling!)
Then a chance to work on a couple of interesting race cars.
We can definitely get you "involved" and you will "learn" in a "fun atmosphere"
that is "competitive" with plenty of experience in winning championships with "fun".

For a good time call Lee at 206-321-6886!

Hah! I bet some here thought I was either too chicken,
or too prudent, to post the above line on a forum board.

the lovely redhead is working in the kitchen and not monitoring
my activities!)

Andy,
If you are looking for someone in the Puyallup area we should talk.

Ken and Lee would be great people to work with. You certainly would learn a lot and great fun too. Plus they have cool toys.

Thank you Tim Bland, for the very kind words.
Yes indeed, Ken Dye is a true gentleman with plenty of "cool toys".
It is always a pleasure to spend time wtih him.
I had planned on going down to his shop tomorrow (Monday 1-16)
to see two of my cars that are there.
But with the weather, and having lost two of what I'd intended
to be very productive days,,,, ?
