Katherine is 'stuck' in a 1 year old version again this year. In 2008 she was given a 2 year old model..

This seems to be the standard method for new people joining the series these days. Next year, assuming she does well this year and is in the series next, she'll get the current spec car. And, as you know, modern DTM cars are pretty close to being F1 with fenders and roofs, so it's good experience she's getting... although one hopes she won't return to OW cars and think she's still driving in one of those "rubbin' is racin'" crashfests DTM features.

yeah, (and obviously used to karts, where you can touch things) but noticably talented...

Actually Katherine got her start in the British Formula Ford Championship and also ran the Forumula Renault series in Europe and the U.S.A. (short lived here but still going in Europe). And she also ran Formula 3.

All good training for Atlantics and CART.

And of her F1 test:

"Former Minardi team boss Paul Stoddart was impressed with Katherine's F1 debut. He commented: "On the third day of Minardi's last test, at Vallelunga, it was pleasing to see Katherine complete her test and set one of the fastest times of the past three days, proving that she's definitely got what it takes to be a Formula One driver."

Anybody who can do that in an F1 car has their driving 'together'

huh- given how much she bounced off walls and other cars, I'm surprised she came
out of FR and FF... but still remain impressed...
