I would like to switch to a fuel cell but i have some questions.in the icscc production rules it says we can run any fuel cell as long as its the same weight as the oem tank.in the scca IT rules it says we have to run a FIA fuel cell.i know the best but not cheapest option is the FIA fuel cell.would running a non FIA fuel cell be legal for GP and safer then OEM? should i stick with the oem tank until i can afford a FIA cell?

forgot to say im a low budget racer and im trying to be safe on a budget....

Running a fuel cell a smart move. There are several brands available that will work for your situation. I prefer Fuel Safe products from Oregon. They are not cheap but do the job of protecting you should a crash occur. The "cheap" fuel cells from Summit or Jegs are designed for drag racing and do not meet the requirements of road racing. Depending on your size and shape required, you can find used units at times. If you buy a used unit, always replace the fuel cell foam as it deteriates over time.
