Cool helmet cam video from PRO-3 rain race at Mission

BMW PRO-3 helmet cam.

You have seen races from the passenger seat, from the roof and even from the bumpers, but NEVER from the driver's perspective in PRO-3! Watch as Zac Zawisza works his way through the pack in the rain this weekend at Mission Raceway in British Columbia.

Zac was looking rather cyborg-like with that thing on his head. Pretty cool video though.

I know we're not SCCA, but they take a dim view of this:
9.3.12. CAMERA MOUNTS
The mounts for video / photographic cameras shall be of a safe and secure
design. The body of the camera or recording unit that weighs more than
8 oz shall be secured at a minimum of 2 points on different sides of the
camera body, neither of the attachments may be elastic or plastic. If a
tether is used to restrain the camera, the tether length shall be limited so
that the camera can not contact the driver. Helmet mounted cameras are
prohibited regardless of size, weight, or location of camera on the helmet.

The whole setup probably weights 6 oz and was made from a collection of GoPro mounts (all plastic and mounted to the helmet with double back tape).

Bill- all cars are supposed to have drive shaft loops too... yeah, nobody has one of those either.

The only problem being that the duct tape in Canada is only 100KM/H whereas here it is 100mph.
But then Carlo smuggled some US tape over the border I'm told.

I was just rule surfing when this came up. Just happened to have 3 rule books open.
Conference doesn't have any specific rules on cameras other than the one mentioned, and it only
suggests it pass a rudimentary check. Whatever that means.
What we don't want is for this camera to fall off and then we'd be left with 30 minutes of crotch shots.
Surely nobody wants that.
