This proposal is about the failure of the scales equipment during the race weekend. The scales see lots of abuse, and they're mechanical contraptions which can break or run out of batteries. When they've failed (because the batteries have drained, or because a driver has run over the plugs or harnesses, damaging them), the club needs to know what will happen for the balance of the weekend until they can be repaired or replaced.
At the E-board meeting, I will further bring up the idea that money for backup hardware be immediately available. If the scales are damaged on the first of two back-to-back weekends, we need to have a plan in place for replacing or repairing the system before the next weekend. I also will raise the idea of carrying backup hardware, or requiring the clubs to provide backup hardware.
