I just turned it on in case others find it useful as well. I think e-mail subscription is probably more commonly used on forums and RSS has been on the decline in general but as Steve mentioned it's easily switched on/off.
RSS feeds are published summaries of content on websites that can be subscribed to and delivered to create a sort of custom newspaper. That's my simply worded description in any case, this is what RSS really is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS
I'm glad you asked Wes because I too was wondering too. But, I didn't ask because I didn't want to seem as dumb as I am. Computers move on and my information base is still back in 1999.
I have a "page" with all of the "feeds" that interest me, this was the only one missing! Being basically lazy I can review sites quickly and drill down if the topic interest's me. The feed for this board is http://www.icscc.com/forums/external.php?type=RSS2&forumids=9
I have the link but it seems to not update with new posts like all other RSS feeds I watch.....it still reflects what was originally here when you first enabled it.
It looks like by default it just displays new threads not new posts. It looks like you can modify the URL to pick up new posts by adding &lastpost=1 like this:
