Greif, not Grief
We want drivers! Eager to race? Here’s your chance. Everyone is invited.
(In particular, we offer you 6 Hour Kart Enduro drivers a chance to practice!)

Ten drivers are already signed up. Only 30 slots are left! Here are the details.

It’s the Team Seattle Kart Challenge. See if you can beat two of the Team Seattle drivers. Bring along the family to watch all the craziness and eat pizza while supporting Seattle Children’s Hospital and Team Seattle’s efforts at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. The event will be held at SyKart in Tukwila on the evening of Saturday, December 12th from 5:30 to 9:30.

There will be five Run Groups with 8 karts in each group. That limits us to 40 racers. Run Groups will be randomly assigned by a draw from the entries. The object is to make it into the championship race, beat the Team Seattle drivers, and win a trophy.

Races 1 thru 5 - Grid positions for the first race in each Run Group will be set by a draw.

Races 6 thru 10 - Drivers stay in the same Run Groups. The grid for the second race of each group will be set by times from the first race. The grid will be inverted with the fastest kart at the rear of the grid.

Each driver will have completed two races. The 12 fastest drivers will advance to the semi-final round. A random draw will be used to place six drivers in each of the two semi-final races. The final two spots in each of the semi-final races will be filled by Team Seattle drivers James Gue (he finished 2nd in the 2009 Koni Challenge Series) and Don Kitch Jr. Starting order will be an inverted grid with Gue and Kitch starting at the rear.

Race 11 - Semi-final #1 - Six drivers compete against each other and Team Seattle drivers Gue and Kitch.

Race 12 - Semi-final #2 - Same format as the first semi-final race.

Race 13 - The Championship! The four fastest drivers from Race 11 and the four fastest drivers from Race 12 run for the trophy. Starting grid will be by draw.

Rules: Do we need any? It depends on who signs up!

When: Saturday, December 12th. Check in at 5:15, racing starts at 6:00 and we’ll be done by about 9:30. SyKart information can be found at: www.sykart.com

What you need: The entry fee is only $75. We’ll supply everything you need, but the pictures would look great if you brought your own helmet. This will be lots of fun, so bring bring the entire family for pop and pizza. We’ll ask for $5 a person for non-racers, but naturally the kids get in free.

If you want to join us, either to race or to cheer on your favorite driver, please send me an e-mail: Frank.Greif@TeamSeattle.com

And, please take a minute to visit our new website at www.TeamSeattle.com.

Hope to see you on the 12th. Thanks

How long is each session, and when you say "fastest", do you mean fastest lap time, or first person across the finish line?

Each session is ten minutes. And it is all about the fastest lap times.

It's going to be quite an evening. We have already filled half the grid!

Want to race? Don't wait. Sign up now at info@TeamSeattle.com
