Time for new Compressor

look at the specs for your air tools etc. Which-ever one is highest in CFM consumption use that and add a bit more. Otherwise the compressor will not be able to keep up. Typical high CFM users are sanders, both orbital and inline. Most other tools, up to 1/2 inch impacts, don't consume that much but need between 135 to 150 psi.

This is a good garage compressor but small on the auto-shop side. Most of those need 24 CFM and 175 psi max, 17 cfm and 150 psi min to keep up with the air requirements.

So in looking over my vast (ha ha) set of air tools they are in the range of 2 to 8 CFM @ 90 PSI thus I thouigh that this would be a good match and IR seems to be a OK brand. Also this is just for my garage so I have something to play with when I get banished from the house.

I have had an IR for years and is a great unit.. This looks just like mine.. What ever brand you get "DON'T" get a dry unit they are loud and run hot causing more moisture than the oil bath compressors...
