Spokane - Tires

Littlevees

Okay.
Portland: Can use old tires for what seems forever.

Pacific: Better than years past but still eats tires.

Mission: Haven't run there.

ORP: Same as Mission. ):

Spokane: With all the changes and paving, can anyone who's had a chance to run on the new surface provide and opinion as to whether old, fairly new or new tires will work best.

Car: Miata. However I'm sure others types may be wondering so by all means chime in on this.

Race well,
Jim Venable

The new parts of the track are extremely grippy. Old parts will be exactly like they were in the years past.

Good gosh, is there any track that loves brand new shaved tires?? Or is the trick to shave them down to 2/32nds vs 4/32nds.....JIm, did you get over to view any Rose Cup activitiy?

Bill-

If it's hot as typical, old tires work better in some cases than new. Depends upon total heat cycles and durometer, and how hot your tires operate normally. Personally, I'm taking 3 sets of tires I would normally consider to be slow because of hardening from heat cycles and one set of stickers in case it's abnormally cool.

All,
Much appreciated. I'm sure this will be helpful to others as well.

Bill,
Nope, didn't make it down. Decided to stay home, work on the car a bit, chill
and enjoy Fathers Day at home this year. Good to have read on the other site
that you enjoyed the weekend as well as met a few more people.
