Spokane registration

Let's go racing
Just thought I would post a link for the upcoming Spokane race in July. Sometimes, well most of the time I feel computer challenged but still like the idea of seeing who I will be racing with. Here goes- http://www.motorsportreg.com/index..../uidEvent/B3169B17-A54C-31C5-3F6E75378F6E2DD2

Just view the current registration list and it will provide you with the most up to date list...

Steve A- would this post be up for a sticky like the past Portland race?

Just this guy, ya know?
There were other reasons for making the PIR race sticky but, yeah, what the hell. I'm with you on getting some weird enjoyment out of seeing who's signed up.

Duane, I have sent my entries in via email several weeks ago yet they are still listed on the motorsportsreg site. I requested verification from the registar listed on the race announcement (same place I emailed my entries) yet have received nothing back.
I also asked about the BMW special race if it is open to all BMW's yet no response. Can you assist please? Thank you.

The BMW race is open to all BMWs. Starting order is determined by entry date, which is how I got on pole last year (by a day or two over Mike McAleenan, as I recall).

Not on the motorsport.reg list?

Cool, I have no aspirations of winning against much faster cars but would like to play in the group. Might even have to pull the 150lbs of ballast out for that race. ;)

I sent my entries in via email the same day I saw the entry announcement.

Actually in checking my email sent file, I sent my first and second entries for the 3 days on June 9th, and my entry for the BMW race on June 11th.

Scott- I have actually nothing to do with the registration of participants. All I was trying to do was just provide a quick link that has the latest updates for other racers to see who is signed up. I guessing from the last couple of posts that some people are using this link to registar for Spokane. I assume that is okay but not my original intention...

Thanks for the link Duane, I did receive an email today a bit ago that I will be getting another email later today...sounds wierd but it will tell me what I need to know. See you in Spokane.

Track looks nice!

I peeked over the Casino side fence Monday and it is really cleaned up. All but one turn station are new and the field grass is mowed. It will be a lot nicer than last year for sure.
The entry seems to be through the oval entrance off Sprague. The Hayford entrance road (past the Casino) is still full of potholes. But by mid July all could change.

Seems that most of the entries are duplicates, which is srtange for a system that seems to work well most of the time.

According to Nancy, the motorsportreg registration is set up to generate the reports needed by the club and thus causes the public attendee list to appear to have duplicate entries.

Great SCOTT!
So Just to confirm:

I registered on the site, used the site to register for the race weekend (for both race days) and entered my VISA and paid my entree fee through that site. My father did the same.

We're we only suppose to use that site to see who registered or was the intention to get us registered and take our money (in a good way)?

Duane started this thread and requested it be "sticky" so that folks could easily see who's registered (or, at least, who's data is listed). If you wanted, and you did, you could register online, too.

Mark - I'm staying at the Day's Inn that's 3 blocks from the track. Nothing fancy, but newish, clean, and cheap! Search for the Days Inn in Airway Heights.

Can someone recommend a good hotel close to the track?

The Days Inn has been where the NWMS has put workers up for the past couple of years. The room I had was clean, air conditioned and quiet. I don't know if they're giving the club a deal on the worker rooms, but I would suggest supporting them, and letting them know you're there for the races.

Might not be a bad idea to tell everyone you spend money with that you're their for the racing, letting people know you've travelled from afar to spend money at the track their tax dollars are supporting. Any goodwill we can generate will only come back to us.

Good call on that one, DB! That's also why I like to wear our team crew shirts in public at restaurants...just hoping that maybe it registers with other folks that we're racers out spending money in their town.

As far as the double entries, I think some of those in the Pro3 section might be due to the extra BMW race that day as well. When I registered for it, I was asked what class; well, there was no selection for a "Special BMW race" so I used Pro3. I'll bet mr.com 'sees' that as two Pro3 entries for Saturday.

Racers, Motorsportreg is a registration tool. It is one of several that ICSCC racers can use to register for a race. If you mail in your entry, you aren't going to show up on the registration list.
The Spokane race shows double entries because of the special race, or entering the two novice races. Because MSR thinks of Friday and Saturday as one race(Sunday being the second race) it doubles you up if you enter the Challenge race or both Novice races.

The Airway Heights Days Inn (800-329-7466) gives us a good deal on worker rooms. It would be good for the future if as many racers as possible booked the Days Inn. It let's them know that we support those who support us. Their AAA rate is $76.40. If you choose the Holiday Inn ($99) and mention the racetrack, the track gets a small kickback, which is why its on their website. They twisted my arm to put our people there for more money than the Days Inn. NO dice.
Note also that the Northern Quest is the title sponsor of our race. Big thank you to the Northern Quest, as this race would not have been financially viable if they had not stepped up. The Quest serves great food, and if you get a chance on the race weekend, head over to let them know we appreciate them.
