Thanks for a great year.

5 championships decided in the last two events
0 calls to Life Flight
0 drivers in off-site ambulance trips
0 driver fistfights
0 tear-down protests
0 Fuel protests
6 totaled cars (uh, I think) in 12 races

These aren't perfect, but they're really PFG.

I was proud to server as your Steward, and learned a lot about the rules as well as working with other people -- a weakness of mine. I appreciate your support and help, and I'm sure that Bill Spornitz will competently carry all of us into the 2010 season.

Your Pal,
.B ekiM

Great Job Mr B, you upheld a pretty strong tradition of outstanding ICSCC Race Stewards without sacrificing your own positive spin on sharing the pure enjoyment of race week-ends.

Thanks for your service! <Golf clap!>

(Although I reserve the right to take a swing at you for jinxing yourself - but this offer is transferrable if you would prefer I take a swing at Bill just to get his tenure started off right.)

Seriously though, thanks for a great job Mike and welcome in Bill.

Great Job Mike. You definately set the bar for humor at drivers meetings. Thank you for your service and advice.

Welcome Bill see you soon

While it's tempting to take credit for all this, it's really everyone -- from drivers to workers -- that makes it a competitive, safe, and compatible year. I know that Bill will find his own voice and tone, and totally kick ass next year. He knows racing, knows the racers, and understand how to make hard things work.

Kudos and thanks for the job well done Mike!

... and the same goes out to everyone else that made Conference such a great club to race with for my rookie season.

Hey Mike O.

I was curious, did the group 1 shuffle screw up your points race. I didnt get to see where you started from when about half of group 1 missed the 5(I dont know what happened there so dont ask me).

I was curious how you finished.

Thomas

Hey now! No thread jacking allowed especially when it's ripe territory to throw darts at .B ekiM! (Although, he did a pretty good job this year, so he's making it difficult on those of us in the peanut gallery.)

Since you aksed the question, if anything, the kersnaffle on pregrid probably helped me, although I didn't have enough in the car or driver to take full advantage of it to beat out Calein in the #60. I finished P4 in the race and 2nd overall for the season.

As one of Mike's final acts of Stewarding, he presented Adam Jacobsen, aka Trunk Monkey, with a Race Steward's Notification as follows.

Group #: E
Compettition #: 1518
Date: 27 Sept 2009
Event Location: Pacific Raceway
You have failed to comply with ICSCC Compettition Regulation #(s) 1517 as follows:
Blocking between turns 5B and 6.
The Penalty for the above noted infraction will be $500, Loss of Qual. Times, Loss of Lap, 6 race suspension and 6 races of Latrine Duty.

Some background for you, the court of a peal is that the one being blocked was the same steward that wrote out the Notification. He could find a way around a Chevy Suburban driven by said Trunk Monkey. :) And said steward is going to get back behind the wheel of a race car? Someone should stencil "Easy Pass" on Mike's car. :D

I couldn't find a safe way around the Suburban.

The best part of this is that, now, should I find myself at the business end of The Shining Clipboard of Justice, I know exactly what to say to Bill.

ekiM,

I sincerely hope that you will consider returning at some point in the future thus bringing back what you've learned, and returned to help with some other Steward set.

I'll bet you had more fun than I'd ever accused you of.
