Mobile version of icscc.com (sorta)

I don't know how much interest there might be, so I didn't spend much effort on it, but I created a kinda-sorta mobile version of the most-updated portions of the site. It's just a link to the stripped-down version of the forum, a link to the current Memo, and the current year's points and schedule. It's plain-jane black text on white background. If there's any kind of real interest, I'll put some more effort into it.

Thanks Steve... looks good on my Nexus One and my Xoom tablet (Honeycomb Android).

Only random thing I see is the forums are ordered from Post 1 ASCENDING by default until you hit the PDA link, then they seem to go to a most recent first ordering.

Love the new feature, definitely something I will use from the track!

Correct, and I've yet to see how to have it start with the equivalent of the PDA link. I'll work on it, though, 'cause it's way more like what I'd expect from that link.

What it takes is me doing it. That said, there is already a mobile plug-in available for vBulletin that we're not using because, frankly, there's just not much take-up on the forum as it is.

I've been using the full web-based forum on my Android phone for a couple years now, but starting yesterday, all I've been able to get is a text based version. Perhaps a simple screen offering the mobile version or the full version would be a good way to handle the selection? I'd prefer to web-based version myself. Thanks.

Eh? Nothing about the forum has changed, nor has the link to the forum from the www.icscc.com address. All the new subdomain is is a pointer to a super-low-fidelity page that only contains or links to the most-updated information, including the archive version of the forum. If you prefer the full-on interface of the forum, either use the link from the main site or, better yet, use the forum-specific shortcut of http://www.icscc.com/forums/index.php.

It works great on my older 3GS iPhone. Will try it out on the tablet when I get home. I will use it at the track.

I've done some branding work, made the forum/Memo links into buttons (for large fingers on tiny phone screens), and made the header into a link back to the non-mobile site, but I'm not 100% happy with the results. (Safari mucks with it a little compared to IE/Firefox.) I will fiddle with it some more, later.

For those of you who have used it, do you have concerns with these changes? It's still pretty stripped down and loads quite fast on my phone, but I'm willing to consider feedback (it's not something I'll use much).
