Major Karting Event July 15 - 17 in Sumas

Sumas International Motorsports Academy (SIMA) is proudly hosting its North West Gold Cup event this July 15 - 17. We expect a large turnout in excess of 150 entries from all over the North West.

Event features include:
  • Top karters from all over the North West including some who have made it up to the ranks of Indy Car Lights and IMSA
  • Family oriented, safety first approach with fierce competition
  • Large class fields in all age ranges such as 16 in the 5 - 7 year Kid Kart class, 2-cycle TaG, Shifter and 4-cycle
  • $5 at the gate spectator entry
  • RV parking close to the track
  • SIMA is a world class full purpose karting facility including sales, service, shop, 1.2 km track and a full line of rentals up to shifter karts.

Thanks to all those who have pre-registered so far and who have their names in the draw for the set of MG race tires. We will also have a ton of contingency prizes during trophy times, including more MG tires and some VP fuel.

We encourage everyone to use MotorsportReg to pre-enter so that we can deal effectively with the registration shack line-ups, and get eveyone into the pits preparing for practice and races as quickly as possible.

We have now secured a large RV parking area right across the street from the track, so there will be plenty of space for you to camp over the weekend with your rigs. We are expecting your rigs to start arriving Thursday afternoon, and will help situate your trailers in the pits while we have you set up your RV camps across the street.

Every driver registered is eligible to win one of two 2-Hour Coaching Sessions with IMSA Sports Car Driver and SIMA Instructor Remo Ruscitti.

A unique opportunity to be coached by one of the premier Prototype and GP drivers, Remo Ruscitti. Freshly returning from placing third at Watkins Glen, his extensive high-performance driving and racing experience will benefit the winning driver in a variety of areas. Driving lines, control skills, race strategy, and all facets of race craft can be covered during this on-track two hour session for any level of driver. Register by July 15th to win the chance to have Remo share in the finer techniques of driving.

I will be there racing my 206 (2nd race ever and first time at SIMA). My son is also racing kid kart... See you there.
