Just this guy, ya know?
SOLD

I have an S52B32 (US-spec, '96-'99 3.2L) engine to sell. I'd like to get $3400/offer for it (the included exhaust headers were $2200 alone, for example).
I'll try to be complete in this original post, but I'll ask that interested parties post questions to this thread, rather than sending mail.
Now to the details: It's an S52 that came out of a 1998 M3 with a little over 52,000 miles at the time. It's been in my racecar and I've put much less than another 10,000 miles on it. It is mildly modified with Schrick sport cams and various "standard" modifications and, as such, would be suitable for either the street or the track. The sale includes everything from the fan to the flywheel (but NOT the flywheel itself) and from the valve cover to the baffled oil pan. The oil filter housing is not included nor is, and this is potentially a big problem for someone, the engine wiring harness: I ran a standalone ECU, but I am including the original DME the engine came with. A new water pump (metal impeller, of course) was installed just before we pulled the engine.
Compression numbers are a respectable 195 190 190 195 195 190, front to rear.
In addition to being fast, this engine was reliable, never having an engine-related failure and even winning the 4-hour enduro at Pacific Raceways outright the one year I entered it. The fuel cutoff was set to 6800 RPM but I always shifted between 6000 and 6500; in otherwords, I kinda babied it. Low maintenance effort and general reliability were the driving issues when we built the engine. We could've built it for more power, but I wanted it to be as worry-free as a race engine ever can be.
Some more details:
