(Yeah, kind'a snowed in, and most places I gotta get stuff done at
are closed. Wife does facebook & all that high tech stuff,,
heck, I have problems enough just getting a post up here!)

So, this is just sort'a gossipy drivel, move on if you don't like it.

I guess some things are just meant to be---,
My wife (yeah, the IRDC Driver's Services "redhead") has always liked
Mustangs, especially the 1965s. I never knew why, or even tried to
understand. Sometimes it is best to just accept a redhead's wants.
(REALLY!!)
So, when Ford came out with the 2005, which styled greatly back
to the 1965, she had to have her first ever new car, and we got one.

So I was trying to get some productive stuff done yesterday.
Since we have somewhat recently moved homes to another house,
one thing I decided to do was move some of my "Road & Track"
magazines from cardboard boxes to a steel file case cabinet.
"Road & Track" used to be a pretty good magazine for sports car
racing enthusiasts. Then, a few years back ---.

Anyway, while helping me, she looks at the cover of the R&T that
was the month of her birth, and lo & behold, on the cover is a picture
of a 65 Mustang!! So, I guess that was just meant to be!

(Yes, yes, I do have and keep magazines that are older than my wife!
Got a problem with that? Heh, Heh, I got treasures even older than that!)

Ahh, those were the years, Gurney & Grant in the Pacesetter 19J building
up a 5 lap lead (!) at Daytona, to fail with a holed piston.
Surtees, the reigning WDC because his teammate Bandini whacked out
Graham Hill in Mexico, was driving a factory/NART Ferrari.
Hey, regular local guys driving things like Sunbeam Alpines, TR3s and
MG-Bs, could finish nearly mid-pack. At the big Daytona race!

And what a year it was to be, Clark skipped the Monaco GP to go play
at Indy. And he still cinched the WDC with a perfect score with 3 GPs
left to run! Regular local guys like Pete Lovely could run in GPs!
