Break in for Toyo RA1's??

something witty
Is there such a thing as a proper break -in for RA1's? I've searched around on the internet machine using the google, but can't really find anything specific.

Thanks for the help

Steve

From what I've read on specmiata.com just scrub them so as to get any mold release lubricant off, but there is no need to pay to heat cycle them or waste the time at the track. Just let 'er rip. The tires get faster as they wear (up to a point, on Miatas anyway).

A couple links for you:

The Toyo Proxes RA-1 does not really require heat cycling. The compounding is formulated to be very stable from the beginning of the tire's life to wear out. This is one of the reasons why many racers love the RA-1 for enduro's. Also, the compound is not very sensitive to the number of heat cycles you put on it. So even if you put a lot of short easy stints on them, they will not turn rock hard. So you CAN race on green tires. But if you are running at a very fast track such as Willow Springs in California, you may experience blistering if running full tread depth.

RA-1s

Steve -

If they are shaved, I would certainly put one nice heat cycle on them and then let them rest for 24 hours. That has pretty much been the proceedure for RA-1s as far I can tell and have personally experienced. Don't think this is necessary if they are full tread.

These are full tread.

Thanks for all the help guys, I appreciate it.

Mike, I saw your new car down at Pat's. Looks like it'll be fun!
