[For Sale] 1989 Swift DB1 Formula Ford

SOLD
Chassis number 010-89, one of only three DB1's built in 1989, that being the last year DB1's were built.
SCCA logbooks from new in June of 1989. This car was always raced in the Northeast and has not been raced since August of 2012 at NHIS. It came to the Northwest as part of a two car purchase in 2017 but never raced here as we chose to race the other car.
It is equipped with floating brake rotors, driver adjustable brake bias, driver adjustable rear anti-roll bar, Penske 8300 shocks and frontal crash structure. The chassis and suspension appear completely as original.
It is fitted with a Kent engine, with aluminum cylinder head, that was refreshed (using Ivey supplied parts) after the August 2012 race. It has Ivey pistons and an SCCA crankshaft fitted. It was started early this year and brought up to temperature with good oil pressure, no abnormal noises and no leaks. Cylinder leakage at that time was 1) 8%, 2) 6%, 3) 6% and 4) 6%.
The trans axle has a 10/31 ring and pinion.
The gear ratios in the gearbox are unknown at this time but assumed to be those for NHIS (the last race).
Included in the package as spares are three sets of wheels, twelve gear sets of the buyer's choice (or as close as we can get from our inventory), new Crain ignition control unit (dyno time only), three rear lower control arms, one rear control arm rear mount, one starter with shaft, one front upright fully assembled, one rear upright with bearings and hub installed, one tip jack, one set of car stands, an external jump/start battery and misc maintenance parts (filters, fluids, etc).
Other than needing a good home, new belts and possibly fluids changed, this car is truly race ready.
It is located in Portland. Pictures are available on request.
Asking price: $15,500.00.
