There still appear to be trees that are too close to the track? What are the plans for "containing" the track - lots of guard rail etc?

That 1:55 lap equates to what kind of an average speed in mph? (don't know track length). Thanks.

Also agree the track looks awesome.

Well there goes my chance to hold the Corvette track record. . .

On a more serious note. As a young (in comparison)/new driver I am impressed beyond words by the efforts that have been put together to build new tracks in this region. In a time when many spend their time worrying about what they are or not entitled to, you put your efforts towards making amazing things happen. I know that this has been the theme of your videos etc. but I thought you might like to know that we "get it." Thanks.

Now when do we build a new track on the Dry side of the mountains????

Looks great. Seems to be a very fast track. What is total track length, # corners, and how long is that long straight. Wind noise from the vette was pretty nice, but it drowned out the car :-(.

Don't know the exact length of the track, but it's somewhere in the 2.6ish mile range. Number of turns is 16 depending upon what people want to call a turn. That's still to be sorted out. The front stretch is 2800ish feet long, slightly longer than the old Spokane layout. Don't quote me on these exact figures, it's just my recollection from casual conversation.

There will be a shallow radius (higher speed) chicane added near the end of the front stretch later if it's needed to control entry speed into the first set of turns. I was seeing 150 mph in the Z06 vette street car, a legit GT1 car should be able to go 185. There will also be a set of crossover roads built between the upper and lower parts of the circuit at a later date, so that the circuit can be split into two distinct shorter circuits, for versatility.

The trees and other things on the periphery are still under construction. The plan is to have at least 50 feet of clear runoff all around the circuit, and anything that may be within that zone will be appropriately protected using the most contemporary safety methods. Don't worry, the runoff areas are still far from finished.

It's still a little early for any open house type lapping, because of the remaining obvious hazards. While it's quite remarkable that the co-founders took this project from raw land to paved circuit in 7 months, there still remains a ton of work to be completed for the planned full calendar of events in 2012.

The video with the vette has be posted on other racing forums both local and otherwise. Needless to say there are several racers in other parts of the country who are REALLY jealous that we have 6 race tracks all within 5 hours of each other and the 2 newest ones came online within 3 years of each other.

Is the left-hander at the bottom of the sorta-Corkscrew banked at all? I can't really tell from the videos. Could be some good off-roadin' goin' on there if it ain't. :D

Actually, there is a boatload of camber on that turn.

As you know Steve, camber never once stopped a racer from going off. It just does not seem to matter how much banking, someone will find their way off for sure.

Just hope its not me!
