SOVREN Spring Sprints Pictures, from 5-17-09

Another batch of absolutely beautiful photos!!

It's great seeing the wonderful vintage cars and especially seeing the beautiful, lush, green background...

From sunny, hot, arid Arizona,

Was a great couple of days. But we did lose the beautiful little Piper #777 for a while :(

Blew the Cortina engine (badly) in Turn 7 and took a really violent spin. Car okay (no impact) and driver okay. Wow it was fast snap and a heck of a ride I'm sure.

Had another one lose its own oil at 7 and another really wild snap spin ride! No external damage. When I got to the driver his 1st question was " WHAT HAPPENED?! " Gave him the bad news about his own oil :(

It was a HEAVY weekend of racing. Each group got warm up, qual session and 1 race on Saturday. Open warm up Sunday morning then 3 races for each group.

Had a 'special' too. Racecraft Touring Car Cup for BS, CS, CP and FIA GT1 and GT2. So some guys had 4 races Sunday... WHEW!!

So now we know what old 777 is. The man in the kilt on the front makes sense now that we know the name. Don't let Jessen see that or he'll be wearing his again!

Thanks Trout.

It is nice to see sunny weekends sandwiched in between rainy weekdays, instead of the other way around.
