Auburn, WA, April 17, 2009—TC Motorsports was at the top of the time charts in the two Ford Racing Mustang Challenge practice sessions today at Barber Motorsports Park. TC Motorsports driver Ted Anthony, Jr. dominated the competition with the fastest time in both practice sessions, while teammate Rick Edwards was close behind, posting the 4th fastest time in the morning session and 3rd fastest time in the afternoon session.
Race rounds #3 and #4 are tomorrow and Sunday (April 18–19) at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama. Ford Racing Mustang Challenge is the headline race for the 45th Anniversary Ford Mustang celebration event being held this weekend at Barber, where thousands of Mustang enthusiasts will celebrate the iconic car.
Although today was the first time Anthony had seen the Birmingham track, he posted the fastest time in both sessions, 0.700 second faster than his nearest rival, Tony Buffomante. Anthony is on a hot streak with his win from pole position at the last Mustang Challenge race at Homestead Miami. Edwards is also on a hot streak and has been getter faster every session. He finished 3rd in the final practice session, only 0.200 second behind Buffomante and 0.320 second faster than the 4th place Andrew Caddell. Anthony and Edwards are looking forward to a great qualifying session on tomorrow morning and race tomorrow afternoon.
