headlight placement

Hi Everyone,

In anticipation of running the 12 hour this year I need to make modifications to my GT3 BMW 2002.

I undertand you must have 1 functioning headlight. I didnt see any reference to placement?

Is it acceptable to place the driving lights in the front spoiler or is their a minimum height for these? I have checked the rules with no luck.

Unfortunately my grill is full of radiator and oil cooler.

The front spoiler is a legitimate location for mounting driving lights; however, the lower you mount the lights the shorter the distance that they will be able to illuminate.

You might want to consider fabricating a light bar mounted in front of the car at the level that the bumper used to be located. This is the solution that I've used in my Datsun 510 in the past. It's relatively easy to make a quick attach solution that spares the lights from road damage during daylight hours.
