Drivers, have your ever imagined yourself racing in a Pro Series? When was the last time you actually won Prize Money in addition to your trophy? How about year-end championship money along with contingency awards? Wouldn’t it be great if every entrant earning points received a percentage of the year-end championship funds?

The SCCBC’s Westcoast Sportscar Championship Series at Mission’s River Edge Road Course can fulfill all of the above. The Series has been running since 2002 and past seasons have generated over $30,000.00 in prize money and contingency. Do we have your interest now?

The series is open to all ICSCC, CACC or SCCA Senior drivers and all closed wheel cars meeting specifications. As long as your car meets the safety standards of these organizations, then we have a place for you. This is a Bracket Racing Series; you decide which of the 4 classes you wish to run in. We have breakout times for each class, which sets the stage and challenges of the race. P4 – no faster than 1.24.0, P3 – no faster than 1.20.0, P2 – no faster than 1.16.0, and P1 where you have no bracket. The challenge in each of the P2-P4 groups is to go as fast as necessary but not break out, if you do break out then you are penalized. Now you may think this is really not racing, but let me assure you that the challenges are like nothing you have every experienced in racing before!

The races are for fifty minutes, and like NASCAR, Formula One and other professional series, there is a mandatory pit stop of 60 seconds where you can have a driver change and be refuelled if necessary. The racing is intense, with every lap bringing the risk of a penalty if you break out. Most teams pick a class and develop their cars to where they can run almost flat out. Communication is so important between crew and driver. Last season, nearly every driver was capable of breaking out at one point or another. The WSC Series puts the emphasis on the team aspects of road racing, and it is racing at its best!

The SCCBC and WSC are extending an invitation to all drivers in the Pacific Northwest to join us in the 2009 Series. If you are looking for an exciting Championship, which continues to grow while rewarding you with money, trophies and contingency products then you must consider registering for the WSC.

Rules and entry forms can be found on the SCCBC website http://www.sccbc.net. This year we have two ICSCC and three CACC race weekends hosting the WSC for a 5-race Championship at Mission. The WSC is held as the last race of the day on ICSCC Mission weekends and gives you the opportunity to run your ICSCC race and then join us at the end of the day for fifty minutes of excitement, fun and rewards. Until you try this type of racing you can only imagine what it is like; once you have experienced it you will be hooked. :D
